“A Celebration of Marriage”
Distinguished Marriage Awards-2010
On Friday evening, February 19, 2010 the Circle of Care Center for Families, in partnership with community churches and organizations, will sponsor “A Celebration of Marriage”, honoring the wonderful institution of marriage. The community is invited to join us for fun and fellowship in Heritage Hall at Spring Road Christian Church in Lanett, Alabama. The evening begins with desserts, fellowship and special music provided by local talent. Then, attendees will enjoy a concert presented by world-renowned recording artist, Babbie Mason. Advance tickets are required. Door prizes will be given. Tickets may be purchased for $10 each. (Childcare will not be available on site.)
At the event, three couples from the Chambers County/West Point area will be recognized as the Distinguished Marriage Award recipients for 2010. These couples’ marriages will have stood the test of time. These couples will have experienced and survived life’s joys and difficulties, and together will have remained friends and partners for life. Tables for the honorees and six of their guests will be provided free of charge at the event. Award winners for 2009 included three couples whose combined years of marriage totaled 169 years! The couples honored were: Mr. and Mrs. Smith Lanier (51 years), Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Nelms (54 years) and Dr. and Mrs. Charles Otto (64 years.)
Please consider nominating a couple you know who has inspired you by the longevity of their marriage and the steadfastness of their love for each other. Nominees must be area residents, from Chambers County, AL or West Point, GA. Complete the attached form and email, mail or fax to the Circle of Care, no later than February 5, 2010.
